Today I dyed more pieces Aqua.....and made a very pretty crochet beach wrap, dyed Aqua with Linen Ties.
To make the crochet beach wrap....I bought a crochet table runner like this one......
longer than my hip size, then cut it to size which was hard to do because I can't stand cutting up beautiful crochet pieces!.....then I cut a strip of lightweight linen, sewed it on, then dyed the whole thing in Rit Aqua Marine....let it dry and I'm loving it!
a beautiful crochet tank dyed in the same color but for a shorter time. I wanted it lighter and it is.
I also dyed a pair of white linen pants....lol.....with linen ties hanging on the sides very hippy ish from back in the day :D
Such a beautiful blue!

That is a beautiful color...my eyes are aquamarine color. I've never dyed anything I was afraid of the results but you did a lovely job.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog!♥
Very beautiful and creative...love the crochet, dear Lady! I love this color so much (can't wait until Anita sees this!)....
ReplyDeleteNothing more healing than water for me...
I always look at the Rit and wonder how difficult it would be...and would the color continue to wash out in the machine?
Looks like something I should try after all after seeing your great results!
I just came back from reading your post about the meaning of the color...I especially am drawn to this : "it is the color of the evolved soul"...my darling mother gave me a turquoise ring a few years ago...I wear it almost daily, and love the energy of it.
Dear Anita and I were discussing the meaning of this color as well. I do remember that communication and clarity were the stand out words....
Isn't it fascinating?
Aqua blessings to you too! :)
Thank you for the inspiration....
xoxo,
- Irina
Yes, isn't is fascinating about the ''clarity and communication?" but between what is the question LOL.....
DeleteToday I picked up some yellow because I believe adding a few drops to aqua will give me a sea green and combined with wearing something in aqua will make me very happy! LOL
so glad you enjoyed the post and can't wait to see you you come up with!
Let me know when you do.
turquoise blessings to you!
After being inspired by you and Tausha I have dyed some things in that aquamarine dye. Love it! I did a skirt I really love:)
ReplyDeleteHi. Today I picked up some yellow to mix with the aqua for a nice sea green and a petal pink.....cause you gotta have pink right ??
DeleteGlad you love it, I'm loving it more and more....lots of grins and smiles and happy dances....can't wait to see the color on the beach any day now.
FANTASTIC MY DEAR! Oh how I love aqua and these two items are perfect for those summer night strolls in the forest, along the lake or beach or just sitting on the porch! Be well today, Anita
ReplyDeleteSummer night strolls in the forest? how I'd love that, but we don't have any.....can you please send the giant stork to pick me up and take me there?? I promise I'll feed him some treats....pleeze? for now it will have to be the beach and honestly I cannot wait to see all these aqua blues on the beach with the water.....lovely. Will be making a sea green to go with the aqua and I will blend in with the oceans and maybe disappear back into the oceanic mists.
DeleteI just love Crochet items and your blue color
ReplyDeletemakes the wrap special...
