"Where better to care for the soul than in the details of our daily lives?....The soul has an absolute, unforgiving need for regular excursions into enchantment. It requires them like the body needs food and the mind needs thought... An enchanted world is one that speaks to the soul, to the mysterious depths of the heart and imagination where we find value, love and union with the world around us. As mystics of many religions have taught, that sense of rapturous union can give a sense of fulfillment that makes life purposeful and vibrant." ~ Thomas Moore.

Only Flowers Today

I went shopping today to my favorite little Italian Market Doris's. I bought flowers and lots of greens!
I also cut some of the variegated hibiscus that is outside, its sooooo beautiful! even inside.
In the cloche I have lots of orange hibiscus. They only last a day, but look lovely in the cloche.

On top of the apothecary chest, some cut giant begonia flowers......housemate said they look like giant baby's breath :D

On the little French cabinet......roses.....

In the middle room, in front of the window I have a printer, I have to always have something lovely on it. These are the cut variegated hibiscus with begonia flowers in pink.

In the hall.....a sweet peony arrangement........not real. .....but lovely all the time! :D

On the coffee table......roses and candlelite......

In the  bathroom......my ''new Bohemian White Bathroom''......never made a post yet because I'm not thrilled with it, but I think with clever photography it could look fantastic LOL,,,,,but I'm not that clever one, alas.

I do love this wall though!

On the sink..........

In my bedroom, the white lilies are fading out

and I added some giant begonia flowers.......so frilly and lacey!

In the living room some fresh white lilies opening with the older ones.....never want to be without these again!

They give off their scent when I need it most at night as I lay on the sofa. Even housemate can smell them.
Thats my soft really warming blanket folded there for when it is a bit chilly, being under it are some of the most wonderful moments!

One of my cattleya orchids snapped off....

.into my hair it went!

Tea tyme..... thanks for being here.

Thrift Store Chandelier

Hello Everyone, :D

I had done a project a month or so ago, and didn't post because I've been busy doing other work, but it seems I miss blogging too much.

But I found a chandelier in the thrift for $25.00. It was really dirty, and the candle covers were broken and so old, I really think this thing is older than 50 years! and was never cleaned in that time either! I liked it and bought it. Then I bought the candle cover replacements and some bulbs. I cleaned it up, painted it white of course :D and hung it. I'm still undecided whether or not I like it, but there it is hanging. It is also quite bright! much brighter than I'd prefer so I have to get 10watt bulbs instead of the 15watt I have in them.
I thought at the time that I would totally add strands of crystals and some prisms, I added only 6 for a touch, but out on that porch I have, I thought simplest was best. Yet it seems off somehow and I'm not sure what it is.

I don't know if I like it, oddly, I wonder what you think?

Here it is as it was found in the thrift:

As I was on the ground cleaning it, my housemate reminded me that I have a beautiful new potting bench ! LOL that I could work on instead of bending down and being hurt for days....what a thought! LOL I keep forgetting this because I've worked for years bending and squatting, still not used to this beauty full bench! :D
So I'm cleaning it here........

It has lots of great detail and a nice pendant tip.......

I love the arms!......

Didn't take pics of the painting process, I used Annie Sloan's Pure White,  nor changing out the candle covers, nor putting in the bulbs LOL, but here it is finished and hanging. I had to cover the awful box with a cotton napkin tied with tulle....... till I find another solution.

During the day.....

I kinda loved the other lamp I had there, but thought this chandy would be better, but not so sure now....

What do you think??

Thanks for listening!

Scent of White Beauty

Just wanting to say hello to all, and I have only a little bit of something to share, but it says more than I can.

No matter what one experiences, to see the beauty in flowers tells me I am still very much alive.

My birthday passed recently, and my housemate brought me Pure White Casablanca Lilies the night before. Since those blossoms opened each day and released their exquisite fragrance into my beautiful bedroom, I have wanted only to be surrounded by Pure White Lilies.....and I have.

I had not told anyone about this birthday and so no one could celebrate with me. I got depressed about it after all.
I had always believed that birthdays should always be celebrated and that every year should be a bigger and bigger one. I always thought by the time I was 50! that I would need to rent a hall! to accommodate all the people who showed up to my ''gifted'' birthday party ~. I was wrong. No large halls to rent nor tulle gowns.
But my practical Taurean housemate remembered and brought me little presents :D.....however, they all had a single 'strange' theme!.....centered around his favorite thing......sweets!
He bought me a set of measuring cups! So I wouldn't have to hurt my pretty head about figuring out how to do powders with liquid measures! and be more encouraged to make things. He bought me an electric mixer so I'd have no excuse that I couldn't mix by hand! and be encouraged to make things. And he bought me a tray for making cupcakes, something I'd never expressed interest in in my life but I guess the suggestion may be encouraging me??? ya think?! sheesh! sweets~! the fastest way to disease and aging, fun as they are! lol

I only want my Praline Pumpkin Cheesecake and I think its time any day now for that one LOL

But here are some exquisite expressions of the Beauty of Mother Nature in all her White Glory that I have kept in my home since last month, February 6th to be precise :D:D:D

Every morning I light 3 tea lights, one on each side of the Lilies, and one for the coffee table behind. Incense stick to accompany the flame for the Spirit of Humanity.

In my room......the walls still enchantingly Silver Pearl.........the scent permeates.......and I am reminded of Gardens from Heaven......

My console table greets you with white, silver, the glow of candle, and the Pure White of Lily,
and its scent !?......... siggghhhhhhhhh..........the very Heart of the Mother.....
