A Thousand Beautiful Things

This is about the Gardens here at Fairy Cottage and Gardens.

So hear goes Pammie, this ones for you with lots and lots of pics as always.
I include this video because the lyrics and melody are beautiful and appropriate for us I think. Its not our usual genre of peaceful instrumentals, but this one is special.

I find it very synchronistic that we both are experiencing some relief from ''the body temples' tantrums'' :D, but I wont question it, I can't, I am just so relieved I can only sing and move around as if like a new born or having sight for the first time. I can't stop singing and one is the song in this video, ''a thousand beautiful things'' sung beautifully by Annie Lenox, which is what I'm feeling and seeing myself lately.....gratitude has seeped into my bones and I am not thinking, just feeling, gardening and almost delirious with relief.
I've taken alot of pictures with you in mind while talking to you in my head, and so I will post them here, the story is in the pictures, since now I don't have much to say. What else do you do when the storm has passed. The only response can be awe filled silence.
As I said I am merely feeling grateful for being mostly pain free right now, apparently the things I'm doing are working and I will post on these, but I need to organize how to do this series on rejuvenation and to also be absolutely sure of the supplements.

Here are the pics, my darling.

First we'd have some kind of morning repast. For me these days, I enjoy my supplements in juice or water, and drink the capsules with lots of fresh water enlivened by ionic minerals from the oceans and baking soda for alkalizing :D How's that to wet your appetite LOLOL ! But at least we'd be sitting here in lovely dim morning light lit by both candle and dimmed chandelier in the company of pumpkins and flowers and sparkly things.

A rectangle opening in the GREEN that is Mr. Ficus Repens who has literally covered this entire house.....a virtual vertical welcome mat lolol
I just learned this week that the figs growing on my walls actually have a scent that is just like jasmine.  sighh

this is just to the left of the Green Entryway......

This is my Halloween decor for the year........

one of my favorite chunky mossy pots with the evergreen juniper.

This is the back now, also early morning light which is my favorite. It was standing here that I, in my mind, grabbed your elbow to escort you further back where we could have some tea.

The herb bed redone and mulched with straw. Lots of the herbs are new and babies because all the rains this year and the weeds killed what was there, so this bed is new.

This is the Jurassic area of the garden where all the leaves grow HUGE !!

 Travelers Palm

 this is giant Elephant Ears.

I'm beneath them and took this picture pointing up just for fun, but I love this pic.

just so you get an idea of the size of the leaves, look how small my hand is....

Giant Australian Fern and giant begonias

The ''formal'' presence in the gardens now are the urns and topiary's. Love them.

I love this blue plumbago, it is beautiful with the pale pink mussaenda.

 small topiary in mossy pot.

 the lemons are almost ready

my potting bench got spruced up I love this area.

This is the rappini veggie bed, the whole bed is planted with rappini I started from seed. I love it sauteed with garlic and oil and red pepper flakes. This urn with mums is for interest and color.

The peace keeper..

 The GateKeeper, Norm the Gnome.

zinnias are doing well suddenly, love it.

Green, such a healing color. That little square bed in the back is Lampost Square planted with kale which I love to have raw in smoothies. A papaya decided to grow and I use those leaves also in the smoothies. Papaya leaves are the ''new green tea''.....the western modern world is always so slow to catch on to the medicine of Mother Nature. Flowering season for the water lilies is done.

my ''fall planter''. The only way to get Fall colors here is to plant them on purpose, so I did a planter.

Topiary is in the middle of the herb bed. To the left I planted Queen Annes Lace, fingers crossed!

The section of yard I just cleared out, hiring stump grinders and all, finally cleared gave us a quarter more of yard space to use.....John especially appreciates this part and thanked me....it went from this.... {we had already started to cut those ficus}

to this.....

to this.....

I love "sod".....its insta-grass!

The hanging planters on the gazebo went from this......

To this. I love the ivy and snow queen plant.....these mimic the faux ones I have hanging inside.

I kept 2 pieces from the stumps removed as they looked so interesting and knew I'd find something cool to do with them. They were both cut uneven though.
In this area along with the bird feeder, I wanted a natural birdbath, do-it-yourself, easy and with whatever I have on hand, one that would blend in with the Old Oak Tree area without bringing attention to it but looks nice. And as I looked at the stumps I kept, I realized, one put on top of the other created a level surface and it worked! I found an unused basin planter, gray in color! how perfect was that!......to blend in with the flagstones and retainers, added some gray spanish moss and small stones and water.....and an instant bird bath was born.

I named this area The Bird Bed and Bath.

I added two Bears Paw Fern that were from another corner unseen, now they are visible nicely.

I leave you finally with the rising sun.......

I have lots more but I want to send them to you in a slideshow. I find a slideshow so much more fun to watch with the pan and zoom feature :D, but I have to work that out. I hope you enjoyed the tour and the soothing love coming from Mother.

  2. What a tropical paradise you have created. So peaceful. You can see all your hard work has rewarded you with a garden to be proud of. I can see us sitting in a shady corner enjoying a cool drink and listening to that beautiful song by Annie Lennox. I have never heard that before and love it. You have so many plants I wish I could grow but with the water rationing here, I don't think this it the time to gamble on growing something new.
I am so happy you are feeling good and look forward to your post on what you are taking to achieve this state of well being.
Thanks for sharing your lovely world with us
    Hugs...Sherry

    1. Thank you Sherry, it is hard work to find out what works and what doesn't. Very humbling actually, and a hard compromise between what Nature wants to grow here and what I want. We struck a bargain finally! lolol.....I plant only what does well.
I can't wait for you to visit, we have so much to do, so many fun things to dine on. I hope you are feeling better too?

  3. What a beautiful post, Sister; almost as beautiful as your peaceful garden/sanctuary!!! I was especially delighted with the green entrance (Mr. Ficus Repens do give us a warm welcome lol) and the Jurassic Park corner... On the other hand, I feel so glad to hear about the relief of your pains and ailments, it´s undoubtable that you´re doing a good job on your health and rejuvenation therapy... btw, I´m sending all my love and blessings to dearest Pammie too!!! (hope she may read this and know I always remember her...)
